About our heritage

What “Since 1989” and the figures on this website mean.

Tour Retour Travel is a new and independent travel business established in California in 2026. The “Since 1989” reference and the historical figures on this website relate to a separate Polish travel office operating under the name Tour Retour Jan Kropielnicki.

The Polish office was founded in 1989 by Sebastian Nizialek’s grandmother, Jadwiga, and his grandfather, Jan Kropielnicki. It continues to operate today and enjoys a well-established reputation built over decades on service quality, customer trust, and a personal approach to planning every journey.

Tour Retour Travel was established in California in response to growing interest in visiting and exploring this part of the world. In 2023, Sebastian moved to the United States to gain first-hand knowledge of California and the western United States, build a network of trusted local contacts, and develop carefully researched, authentic journeys for travelers interested in the region. That on-the-ground experience became the foundation for opening the California business in 2026.

The figures are based on the Polish office’s historical operating records and summarize its activity through 2026.

Client trust account

California law requires certain sellers of travel to have a trust account or bond. This business has a trust account.

Tour Retour Travel is required to deposit 100% of customer funds directly into its business client trust account and may withdraw those funds only as permitted by the California Seller of Travel Act.

Travel Consumer Restitution Fund

A transaction is covered by the TCRF when Tour Retour Travel is registered and participating in the fund at the time of sale and the passenger is located in California when payment is made. An eligible passenger who is owed more than $50 may file a claim when qualifying travel funds were not forwarded to the proper provider or were not refunded when required.

Reimbursement is limited to the amount paid for the passenger, up to $15,000. A claim must be filed within 12 months after the scheduled completion date of travel, with supporting documents and the required $35 processing fee. Filing a claim requires waiver of other civil remedies against the registered participating seller for matters arising from the same sale.

A transaction with a passenger located outside California at the time of payment is not covered by the TCRF.
